EASY: DISH WASHING BLOCKS

Dish washing blocks are pretty cool because they’re packaging free. They essentially work like a bar of soap. Rub your dish brush or washcloth on it and wash dishes as normal. Deerhaus Decor at Findlay Market sells dishwashing blocks at their store and online.

Dishwasher detergent is also easy to make. Mix 2 parts borax, 2 parts washing soda, 1 part salt, and 1 part citric acid (found online and lasts a long time). Use one Tablespoon in the dishwasher.
