The Rights of Lake Erie with Tish O’Dell
Tish is an activist and organizer. She is the Ohio Organizer for the Community Environmental Legal Defense Fund (CELDF), assisting communities to organize rights-based initiatives surrounding fracking, sludging, and water privatization, among others.
She is also the President of the Ohio Community Rights Network (OHCRN), working to build movements towards constitutional change guaranteeing people’s rights to local self-governance, & the rights of people and nature over corporations.
Tish co-founded the grass-roots organization MADION, Inc. (Mothers Against Drilling In Our Neighborhoods) in Broadview Heights, OH that successfully campaigned in 2012 to adopt the first Home Rule Charter amendment in Ohio creating a Community Bill of Rights banning new gas drilling, fracking & injection wells in the city.
The program starts with an optional potluck at 6:00 pm and the speaker at 7:00 pm
