In Rhythm with Nature, is a homage to the cadence of life, the pulse that drives us, to be, to do. Scarlett Hayes was inspired by the rhythms in the breeze; the knock of a woodpecker, the trickle of a brook, the crunch of the foliage. With this piece her goal was to allow you to play along with the sounds of the forest to create a rhythm that resonates with your soul. She invites you to grab a mallet and find harmony with nature as you explore the percussive elements of the garden.

In Rythym with Nature is on of the four art installations in Gallery in the Woods 2025. The guiding principle of the Gallery in the Woods 2025 program is to repurpose invasive species for installation, creating beauty and contemplation along Imago’s trails.

Scarlett Hayes is an artist & educator residing in Cincinnati, OH. She has lived in the Ohio River Valley her whole life, making art and teaching learners of all ages. You might find her hosting classes, hiking in the woods, playing in a creek, or cycling around the city with her family.
