There was a time when Imago’s outdoor education programs consisted of mostly field trip experiences at our nature preserve. At the height of those programs, Imago hosted nearly 10,000 students a year at our site for field trips. In the recent past, Imago had slowly moved away from emphasizing our field trips so that we could focus on our Branching Out programs, summer camps, and afterschool programs. We are excited to say that field trips are back! Field trips are available for any group (including homeschool groups) that are interested in spending time at our nature preserve on a guided program. All of our programs are filled with hiking, exploration, and student-led inquiry. Field trips are a fun and active way for students to learn about a classroom topic and a great way for teachers to enhance their curriculum. Popular topics include Native American Study, Insects, Nature Hikes and Ecology. Field trips are available as half-day excursions (2 hours) or full day excursions (4 hours). Check out our Groups page to learn more about field trip opportunities and to sign up. If you don’t find one you like, reach out to us, as we can often customize a field trip experience.
